Obverse description Central tilted shield bearing the combined arms of Gelre and Jülich, surmounted by a tournament helmet with crest. The shield is flanked on each side by a rampant lion as supporter. The design is contained within a reeded inner circle, with the legend divided between the upper and lower fields outside the circle. The overall style is characteristic of late medieval Low Countries hammered silver coinage.
