| Popis líce | Full-length facing figure of Saint John the Baptist standing within a beaded inner circle, clad in a camel-hair mantle and holding a long cross-scepter in his right hand, with the Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) cradled in his left arm. The saint is depicted in the Gothic style typical of Rhenish goldgulden coinage of the early fifteenth century. The surrounding legend in uncial characters reads WERNER ARCP TRE, identifying the issuing archbishop Werner of Falkenstein of Trier. The inscription is contained between the inner beaded circle and the outer milled border. |
