The figure is set within a beaded inner circle, with the peripheral legend in Gothic uncial lettering reading WERNERVS ARCIPS (Werner, Archbishop) running around the circumference between two beaded borders. |

The shield is set within a beaded inner circle, surrounded by the peripheral legend in Gothic uncial script reading MOnETA nOVA COnFLUEN (New money of Koblenz), separated by pellets or small ornamental stops between the two beaded borders. |
