Obverse description Facing figure of Saint Peter, patron saint of Trier, depicted enthroned in episcopal vestments with nimbus and beard, rendered in the Gothic style typical of late 14th-century Rhenish goldgulden. The saint holds a key in his right hand and raises his left hand in blessing. The figure is set within a beaded inner circle, with the peripheral legend in Gothic uncial lettering reading WERNERVS ARCIPS (Werner, Archbishop) running around the circumference between two beaded borders.
