Obverse description Central quartered shield bearing the four-fold arms of the Archbishopric of Cologne, superimposed upon a long-armed patriarchal (Portuguese) cross that extends to the inner border. The shield is rendered in a late Gothic heraldic style with fine engraving. A circular beaded inner border frames the composition, with a Latin legend running along the outer periphery of the coin.

Reverse description Three heraldic shields arranged in trefoil formation around a central six-pointed star, following the standard Rhenish Goldgulden reverse type. The shield of Mainz is positioned to the right, the combined arms of the Palatinate and Bavaria appear below, and the quartered arms of Trier and Sierck are placed to the left. The shields are rendered in Gothic style within a beaded inner circle, with a Latin legend occupying the outer field.
