The surrounding field is occupied by the Gothic uncial legend, separated from the central design by a beaded inner border. The overall composition is characteristic of Rhenish Goldgulden of the mid-fifteenth century. |

| 背面描述 | A quartered heraldic composition formed by four escutcheons arranged around a central quatrefoil boss, displayed between four ornamental branches. The upper shield bears the combined arms of the Palatinate and another territory; the left shield displays the arms of the Palatinate (lozengy); the right shield shows a rampant lion; and the lower shield contains a wheel, the traditional charge of the Electorate of Mainz, here representing one of the co-issuing electoral authorities. The arrangement is set within a beaded inner border, with the Gothic uncial mint legend encircling the design in the outer field. |
