| Descrição do anverso | Saint Peter enthroned facing, nimbed and bearded, raising his right hand in benediction and holding a large key in his left hand, seated upon an elaborate Gothic architectural throne with flanking towers and arched canopies rendered in high relief. A shield bearing the arms of the Archbishopric of Cologne is displayed at the base of the throne below the saint's feet. The surrounding field is occupied by the Gothic uncial legend, separated from the central design by a beaded inner border. The overall composition is characteristic of Rhenish Goldgulden of the mid-fifteenth century. |

| Descrição do reverso | A quartered heraldic composition formed by four escutcheons arranged around a central quatrefoil boss, displayed between four ornamental branches. The upper shield bears the combined arms of the Palatinate and another territory; the left shield displays the arms of the Palatinate (lozengy); the right shield shows a rampant lion; and the lower shield contains a wheel, the traditional charge of the Electorate of Mainz, here representing one of the co-issuing electoral authorities. The arrangement is set within a beaded inner border, with the Gothic uncial mint legend encircling the design in the outer field. |
