The angel's wings extend to either side, framing the composition symmetrically. Below the angel, a quartered heraldic shield displays the combined arms of Jülich and Geldern. The surrounding legend in uncial characters names Duke Reinald as issuer. The entire design is rendered in the hammered, low-relief style characteristic of early 15th-century Rhenish goldgulden coinage. |
