The shield is surrounded by a beaded inner border. A continuous Gothic uncial legend encircles the design within a beaded outer border, reading KVNODVS ARCHIEPS, identifying Archbishop Kuno II of Falkenstein. The overall style is characteristic of Rhenish goldgulden coinage of the mid-fourteenth century. |
