The composition adheres to the established iconographic conventions of Rhenish Goldgulden of the early fifteenth century. |

| Descrição do reverso | A large central shield of arms charged with a rampant lion, the principal device of the Lordship of Schönforst, displayed at the centre of a Gothic quadrilobe formed by four cusped lobes. Each lobe contains a subsidiary heraldic shield representing dynastic claims of the issuer, including devices identified as an eagle, barry arms, and a second rampant lion. The peripheral legend in Gothic uncial script reads MOn nOV SChO VRST, an abbreviation of Moneta Nova Schonvorst (New Money of Schönforst). The overall design follows the standard Rhenish Goldgulden reverse type prevalent in the Lower Rhine region during the first half of the fifteenth century. |
