A central quatrefoil boss marks the intersection of the cross arms. The surrounding circular legend in Gothic uncial lettering reads MOnE nOVA AVREA COVELE, identifying this as a new gold coin of Koblenz (Coblenz), the mint city of the Archbishopric of Trier. |
