Obverse description Christ enthroned in majesty (Maiestas Domini) depicted in Gothic style, seated facing on an ornate throne flanked by Gothic architectural elements including pinnacled columns. The figure raises the right hand in benediction and holds an orb in the left hand, with a cruciform nimbus behind the head. Below the throne, the quartered arms of the Archbishopric of Trier and the house of Baden are displayed. The circular legend in Gothic uncial lettering reads IOh ELEC ET COnF T, referring to Johann (John II of Baden) as Elector and Administrator of Trier.
