A six-petalled rosette appears at the base of the composition, and the entire device is surrounded by a circular beaded border. The Gothic uncial legend encircles the design, reading FREDIC D MRS Z SARV, identifying the issuing count Frederick IV of Moers and Saarwerden. |

A small heraldic shield appears at the base of the effigy. The figure is set within a plain inner field framed by a beaded border, with the circular Gothic uncial legend MON nOVA AVREA MRS — meaning 'New Gold Money of Moers' — encircling the whole design. |
