To the upper left, a displayed eagle bearing a cross on its breast — the heraldic device of the Archbishopric of Trier — flanks the saint's head. The figure is rendered in the Gothic flat-relief style characteristic of mid-fourteenth-century Rhenish goldgulden. A beaded border frames the design, with the saint's name legend in uncial letters disposed around the circumference. |
