Obverse description Full-length frontal figure of St. John the Baptist, nimbed and draped in flowing robes, standing facing on a small shield bearing the Frankfurt eagle. The saint raises his right hand in blessing and cradles the Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) in his left arm, the lamb's head turned toward the viewer. The figure is framed within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin legend distributed around the periphery between the inner and outer beaded borders.
