Reverse description Central round hole flanked by two facing lion heads emerging from decorative foliage, the whole composition framed by a wreath of stylised branches. The Arabic denomination غرش وَاحد (one ghirsh) appears in the upper field above the perforation. The numeral 1 is placed to each side of the hole, and the denomination PIASTRE is inscribed in Latin letters below, with the date 1925 and its Arabic-Indic equivalent ١٩٢٥ flanking it in the lower field. The word ESSAI appears in small letters in the exergue, identifying this as a pattern strike. A beaded border encircles the entire design.
