正面描述 Crowned shield of arms of Transylvania divided into four quarters, displaying the Transylvanian eagle, the seven fortresses, and the crescent moon motifs, with the mint mark CC flanking the lower sides of the shield. A beaded inner circle frames the design. The surrounding legend reads GABR·G·S·R·IMP·ET·TRAN·PRIN or similar variant, identifying Gabriel Bethlen as Prince of Transylvania and Count of the Holy Roman Empire.

附加信息

Bethlen issued these small silver pieces during the years immediately following his third military campaign against the Habsburgs, a conflict that ended with the 1624 Peace of Vienna and left him in an awkward position — nominally at peace with Ferdinand II while still actively courting Ottoman backing and Protestant German princes. The garas denomination served the practical demands of a principality whose economy ran heavily on trade with both Ottoman and Central European markets simultaneously.

The Resch references span a notably wide die variety range for a three-year window, reflecting Bethlen's tendency to maintain multiple active dies across his mints at Nagyszeben and Gyulafehérvár.
