Obverse description Irregularly shaped hammered copper flan bearing a multi-line Arabic inscription in bold Naskh script, distributed across the field in three or four horizontal registers. The legend, rendered in deeply struck strokes, contains the royal titulature of Sultan Mahmud Shah. The surfaces show characteristic die-struck raised lettering with a patinated blue-green verdigris patina consistent with prolonged burial. The flan edges are uneven, typical of hand-struck Bahmani copper coinage of the late 15th century.
