The Bahmani Sultanate's copper issues from this reign fall within the rule of Humayun Shah, known in contemporary sources as "the Cruel" — a reputation earned through a documented pattern of executing courtiers on personal whim. His reign lasted only four years before he died of illness in 1461, leaving a treasury and administration in considerable disorder.
