Two wildmen (savages) armed with clubs stand as supporters on either side of the shield, and a sweeping crowned mantle extends behind both shield and supporters. The denomination 1 FR: D'OR appears in the upper field, while the date 18|53 is divided below the shield, flanked by the Altona mintmark (Jupiter symbol) and the initials F.F. of the mint master. A beaded border frames the entire reverse composition. |
