Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King Faisal I facing left, rendered in high relief with fine detail to the hair and short beard, engraver's initials 'PM' (Percy Metcalfe) visible below the truncation. The Arabic legend curves along the left and right periphery of the field, reading 'فيصل الأول ملك العراق' (Faisal I, King of Iraq). The portrait is executed in a naturalistic, classical style characteristic of Royal Mint production of the early 1930s.

Reverse description Central circular medallion bearing the Arabic numeral '١' (1) above the denomination 'فلس' (Fils), surrounded by a starburst of radiating panels filled with large, ornate Arabic calligraphic script reading 'المملكة العراقية' (The Kingdom of Iraq). The Hijri year '١٣٥٢' appears to the right and the Christian year '١٩٣٣' to the left within the radiating design. The overall composition is bold and decorative, making prominent use of the field to display both the denomination and the royal title.
