The entire composition is surrounded by a beaded inner circle and a peripheral Latin legend reading MAG · TEVT · ORD · LIVONES ·, abbreviated for Magistri Teutonici Ordinis Livoniae, identifying the issuer as Master of the Teutonic Order of Livonia.
