| Obverse description | The central field bears four large Chinese characters arranged vertically in two columns, reading top to bottom and right to left, denoting the Republic of China year of issue. These central characters are surrounded by a complete circular legend of smaller Chinese characters indicating the denomination (1 Fen), the coin's copper composition, and its manufacture in Kwangtung Province. The design is purely typographic with no effigy or pictorial device, framed by a beaded inner border and a milled outer rim. |
