Obverse description A royal crown adorned with nine jewels occupies the central field of the oval flan, rendered in a stylised early Stuart manner. The Latin legend commences at approximately the seven o'clock position and runs clockwise around the periphery of the coin. No privy mark appears on this side. A beaded inner border frames the design, consistent with roller-milled farthing production of the period.

Reverse description An eagle-headed harp occupies the central field, its neck terminating in an eagle's head facing right, with six strings clearly delineated and a crown bearing nine jewels surmounting the instrument. The Latin legend encircles the design, with a privy mark — either a millrind or a martlet — appearing at the conclusion of the legend on the reverse only. A beaded border runs along the edge of the oval flan.
