| Beschrijving voorzijde | A royal crown depicted in full face at centre field, rendered in a primitive but bold style characteristic of early French colonial coinage. The crown features a rounded base band adorned with two rows of pellets, surmounted by arching elements and three fleurs-de-lis at the top. The design fills most of the flan and is unaccompanied by any legend or inscription. The irregular flan and crude striking are typical of locally produced hammered bronze coinage of the period. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Nine fleurs-de-lis arranged across the field in three rows of three, the emblematic symbol of the French royal house of Bourbon. The fleurs-de-lis are rendered in a bold, somewhat rustic style consistent with the primitive engraving techniques employed at the Pondicherry mint during the early eighteenth century. The reverse bears no legend or inscription. The irregular flan edges and uneven strike are characteristic of the hammered coinage produced for French colonial circulation in India. |
