| Obverse description | Irregular square hammered copper flan bearing a bold Arabic inscription in the field. The legend reads 'ضرب قندهار' (Zarb Qandahar, meaning 'struck at Qandahar'), rendered in a cursive Naskh-influenced script with prominent diacritical dots scattered throughout the field. The lettering is raised in relief against a coarsely textured, granulated ground characteristic of emergency siege coinage. The overall execution is crude but legible, consistent with hastily produced military necessity issues of the late seventeenth century. |
