Nasir Shah Khalji ruled Malwa from 1500 to 1510, a period of relative stability for the sultanate sandwiched between the turbulent reigns that preceded and followed it. Malwa's copper coinage of this era circulated within a landlocked plateau kingdom that controlled key overland trade routes between Gujarat and the Deccan, making even base-metal falus politically meaningful instruments of local commerce.
GG#M143 is among the better-documented Malwa copper attributions in Goron and Goenka's corpus, though die alignment and flan preparation on these issues is notably inconsistent across surviving specimens.
