| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field bearing a bold Arabic legend in cursive Naskh script, reading the ruler's name and title, enclosed within a circular border. The lettering is rendered in high relief against a flat field, characteristic of hammered Bahmani copper coinage. The flan is irregular and somewhat roughly finished, with green patination consistent with age. The script fills the entire central field with no additional decorative devices. |

Muhammad Shah II ruled the Bahmani Sultanate through a period of sustained conflict with the Vijayanagara Empire to the south, and his reign saw the sultanate consolidate control over the Deccan plateau through a series of costly wars. Copper falus coinage of this period was the workhorse of local bazaar commerce, largely invisible to the treasury records that documented gold and silver issues — which is precisely why surviving examples with legible mint details are scarcer than their original production volumes would suggest.
