正面描述 Square copper flan with a horizontal line dividing the field into two registers, each bearing Arabic inscription in bold Naskh script. The upper register carries the royal name and title of the issuing sultan, while the lower register continues the dynastic attribution. The legends are struck in relief against a flat field, with characteristic irregular flan edges typical of hammered medieval Indian coinage. The overall style is consistent with Malwa Sultanate copper coinage of the early sixteenth century.

附加信息

Mahmud Shah II's reign over Malwa was effectively over before this coin was struck — by 1524 the sultanate had become a contested prize between the Rajput confederacy under Medini Rai and the expanding Sultanate of Gujarat. Mahmud II spent much of his rule as a political captive, his authority nominal at best. Copper falus from this period circulated in a polity that was functionally disintegrating, which makes dated, attributable examples harder to pin down than the silver coinage of the same reign.
