Obverse description Central field divided by a horizontal bar, bearing the sultan's name and epithet in Arabic Naskh script. Above the bar, a single line of legend; below, two lines reading 'Sultan Mahmud Shah' in stylized calligraphy. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, characteristic of hammered copper coinage of the Delhi Sultanate period. No figurative imagery is present, in accordance with Islamic numismatic convention.
