The word 'zarb' (struck) appears in conjunction with 'Kashgar', identifying the issuing mint, while the Hijri date is rendered in Eastern Arabic numerals and varies by emission: AH 1290, 1291, 1292, 1293, or 1294. The flan is irregular in outline and the strike is typically weak or flat at the margins. Pellet ornaments are occasionally visible in the border area of better-struck specimens. |
