| Reverse description | Hammered field bearing a multi-line Arabic inscription in bold Naskh script, identifying the sultan by his patronymic and title. The legend names Ahmad Shah as son of Mahmud Shah al-Sultan, accompanied by the Hijri regnal year 967 rendered in Arabic-Indic numerals in the lower portion of the field. The lettering is boldly raised in relief, with the strokes exhibiting the broad, somewhat angular character typical of Gujarati sultanate copper issues. The flan is slightly irregular and the field shows areas of green patination consistent with long-term copper oxidation. |
