| Descrizione del dritto | Irregularly shaped hammered copper flan bearing a multi-line Arabic legend disposed across the field in three horizontal registers. The upper portion features the mint name within a cartouche or panel, reading 'Dar-us-Sultanat' (the Abode of the Sultanate), identifying Hyderabad as the place of issue. Below, a regnal year in Arabic-Indic numerals (١٠٩٥, corresponding to AH 1095 / AD 1684) appears in the lower field. The surfaces exhibit the characteristic rough texture and uneven strike typical of late Golkonda hammered coinage, with areas of cuprite patination throughout. |

Abu Hasan Qutb Shah ruled Golkonda from 1672 until the sultanate's violent end in 1687, when Aurangzeb's Mughal forces besieged the fortress-city for eight months before a nobleman opened the gates from within. Abu Hasan was imprisoned at Daulatabad, where he died in 1699 — which explains the date range: the coins were struck during his reign, but he himself outlived his kingdom by over a decade.
Golkonda's copper coinage from this period is poorly documented in Western references, and die wear and irregular flans are endemic to the type rather than exceptional.
