| Reverse description | Irregularly shaped hammered copper flan bearing the regal legend of Sultan Abu Hasan Qutb Shah disposed in multiple horizontal lines across the field. The Arabic inscription reads 'Abu al-Hasan Qutb Shah', identifying the issuing ruler, the last sultan of the Qutb Shahi dynasty of Golkonda. The strike is characteristically uneven, with portions of the legend weakly impressed due to the crude hammered technique employed at the Hyderabad mint. Traces of green cuprite patination are visible across the darkened brown surfaces. |
