| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a distinctive interlaced triquetra or three-lobed geometric ornament composed of curved, dotted-border bands forming three overlapping shield-shaped compartments, each containing a globule in relief. Flanking figures, likely stylized human or animal forms, appear at the lower left and lower right of the central device. An Arabic legend occupies the upper field above the central motif. The die-struck design is rendered in a bold, somewhat schematic Qarakhanid artistic style characteristic of Central Asian copper coinage of the 11th century. |
