| Reverse description | Central field features a square frame with an inner concentric square enclosing an intricate geometric or vegetal device, with small circular ornaments at the corners of the inner frame. Arabic legends in Kufic script are arranged in four registers around the central square, citing the Abbasid caliph al-Muqtafi billah in the traditional manner of suzerain acknowledgment. The field is worn and irregular, consistent with the roughly struck, hand-hammered flan typical of Proto-Qarakhanid copper coinage of this period. |
