| Obverse description | Central field bears a multi-line Arabic religious legend arranged in horizontal registers within a plain inner circle, surrounded by a dotted border and an outer marginal legend running along the periphery. The script is executed in the Kufic style characteristic of Central Asian Islamic coinage of the early 11th century. The overall composition follows the standard Abbasid-derived epigraphic layout, with the shahada or related formulae occupying the central area. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, with the design struck off-center in typical hammered fashion. Surface shows natural patination and wear consistent with circulation use. |
