| Descrizione del dritto | Central field enclosed within a single linear circle bearing multiple lines of Arabic Kufic inscription arranged in horizontal registers, the text occupying most of the inner field. An outer marginal legend in Arabic script runs around the full circumference between the inner circle and the beaded or rope-pattern rim, itself characteristic of Qarakhanid copper coinage of the late 10th century. The legends proclaim the Islamic profession of faith and the name of the issuing authority. The overall style reflects the angular, highly stylized Kufic script typical of Central Asian hammered fulus of this period. |
