| Obverse description | Entirely epigraphic design with no figural elements, characteristic of Kharijite coinage. The central field bears the distinctive Kharijite theological declaration in Arabic script arranged in multiple lines. A circular marginal legend in Arabic script runs around the periphery of the flan. The die work is rough and provincial in character, consistent with the emergency or rebel coinage tradition of the period, struck on an irregular copper flan with an uneven, slightly concave surface. |
