| 正面描述 | Central field contains a multi-line Arabic inscription arranged within a plain inner circle bordered by a dotted beaded ring. The legend, executed in Kufic script, bears the name and titles of the Qarakhanid ruler Alp Abu'l-Fawaris. A further circular marginal legend in Arabic script runs within the outer border of the flan, partially worn and irregular at the edges due to the hammered production technique. The overall style is consistent with early 5th-century AH Central Asian Islamic coinage. |

The Qarakhanids were the first Turkic dynasty to convert en masse to Sunni Islam, and their coinage reflects that transition in real time — early issues struggle with Arabic script conventions that later struck with confidence. Alp Abu'l-Fawaris ruled as a regional governor under the divided Khaganate structure, and al-Shash (modern Tashkent) was among the most commercially active mints in Central Asia at the turn of the eleventh century, sitting astride the Silk Road routes connecting Transoxiana to the steppe.
Album's R3306 designation signals rarity. The "R" prefix in Stephen Album's Checklist indicates pieces documented in very limited numbers.
