| Reverse description | Central field displays a multi-line Kufic Arabic inscription arranged horizontally across the inner circle, conveying the Islamic profession of faith (Shahada) and mint or date formula, enclosed within a beaded inner border. A circular marginal legend in Arabic Kufic script surrounds the inner field, running along the periphery of the flan. The flan is irregular and slightly chipped at the edges, characteristic of hammered copper fals coinage of the Qarakhanid period. The script is boldly struck though partially worn on the high points. |
