| Obverse description | Frontal view of the medieval keep of Loches (Donjon de Loches), rendered in fine relief against a plain field. A decorative sprig appears to the lower right of the fortification. Twelve stars arranged in a circle border the upper and lateral periphery of the coin, evoking the European Union motif.
