| 背面描述 | Within the copper-nickel centre, a stylised radiant sun design composed of alternating raised and recessed rays emanating from a central disc bearing the large numeral '1' above the word 'EURO' in raised letters. The engravers' names 'J. POMPANON' and 'PENIN' appear in the field to the left and right respectively. The surrounding nickel brass ring carries the legend 'du PAYS DU FREINET' along the upper arc and the validity dates '29 Avril au 10 Mai 1998' along the lower arc. |

This piece belongs to the wave of locally-issued euro anticipation tokens that circulated across French communes and cantons in 1997–1998, produced ahead of the single currency's January 1999 launch. The Freinet massif communities — Plan de la Tour, Fisac, and La Garde-Freinet — pooled their promotional effort into a single issue, a minor administrative curiosity in itself. These tokens had no legal tender status whatsoever; their value was purely commercial and sentimental, accepted only by participating local merchants.
