| Beschrijving keerzijde | The central silver-toned inner disc features a seated classical female figure, draped and laureate, positioned to the left and holding a mallet or hammer, rendered in a neoclassical style evocative of Europa; behind her rises a large numeral 1 occupying the right portion of the field, overlaid with radiating lines symbolising unity. Twelve five-pointed stars are distributed around the inner and outer ring border, representing the member states of the European Union.
