The encircling legend SICILIA ET HISPANIARVM REGES is disposed around the periphery within a beaded border, proclaiming the monarchs' titles as Kings of Sicily and the Spains. The overall design reflects the late Gothic aesthetic prevalent in early Habsburg Castilian coinage. |
