| Obverse description | Crowned quartered royal shield of Castile and León, bearing the arms of Castile (castle), León (lion), Aragón (pales), and Granada (pomegranate), surmounted by an ornate imperial crown. The shield is set within a beaded inner circle, with the partial legend IOANA ET CAROLVS disposed around the periphery. The flan is characteristically irregular in shape, as typical of hammered gold coinage of this period. |

| Reverse description | A bold Latin cross with splayed terminals centered within a four-lobed Gothic quatrefoil, each lobe separated by the arms of the cross, creating a symmetrical architectural frame. Small decorative elements fill the angles of the quatrefoil. The encircling legend SICILIA ET HISPANIARVM REGES is disposed around the periphery within a beaded border, proclaiming the monarchs' titles as Kings of Sicily and the Spains. The overall design reflects the late Gothic aesthetic prevalent in early Habsburg Castilian coinage. |
