The reverse features a large numeral '1' prominently displayed in the centre of the field, with the denomination 'ESCUDO' inscribed in bold capital letters below it within an inner beaded circle. The upper portion of the surrounding legend bears the inscription 'REPÚBLICA·PORTUGUESA', separated by dot stops, arching around the upper rim. Along the lower portion of the field, the commemorative date range '1446-1946' is inscribed, flanking two small floral ornaments on either side, referencing the five-hundredth anniversary of the discovery of Guinea. |
