| Descrizione del rovescio | The reverse presents a plain, unadorned field dominated by the large numeral 1 at centre, with the denomination ESCUDO inscribed in a bold arc immediately below. The circular legend REPUBLICA PORTUGUESA runs along the periphery, interrupted at the top by a small dot separator and at the bottom by a small pellet. All lettering is in raised Latin capitals. The design is framed by a continuous beaded border matching that of the obverse, giving the coin a uniform and restrained appearance characteristic of Portuguese colonial coinage of the Estado Novo period. |
