| Opis awersu | The obverse displays the crowned arms of Utrecht at centre: a quartered shield bearing a diagonal bend sinister composed of vertical stripes, surmounted by an ornate mural crown with foliate finials. Two rampant lions serve as supporters, each facing inward and grasping the sides of the shield with their forepaws. A horizontal line separates the shield from the lower field, beneath which a decorative scrollwork cartouche is placed. The design fills the coin's field to the rim without a surrounding legend, relying entirely on heraldic imagery to denote the issuing chamber. |

| Opis rewersu | The reverse bears the prominent interlaced VOC monogram — the conjoined letters V, O, and C in large relief — occupying the majority of the field. A five-pointed star mintmark is positioned above the monogram at the top of the field. The date 1790 is inscribed in large numerals along the lower portion of the field beneath the monogram. The design is unencumbered by a peripheral legend, with the monogram and date serving as the sole devices against a plain, undecorated field. |
