The crowned shield occupies the central field and is surrounded by a circular Latin legend reading IN.DEO.EST.SPES.NOSTRA, meaning 'In God is our hope,' which runs along the periphery. The outer rim is defined by a beaded border consistent with the milled technique of the issue. |
